Other Benefits:
Overall, having a doula can be a valuable addition to a your support team, providing emotional, physical, and informational support during the birthing process.
For me, it was having a woman there, that believed in me & completely trusted birth. It was a transformational experience & so so much better than my first birth in so many ways. It was as though she knew exactly what I needed & that made me feel so safe. She smiled at me & reassured me that everything was fine. I remember the counter pressure she gave me during transition when I was on my hands & knees & full of fear. I remember she unclenched my fists during a contraction & reminded me to keep my body soft. She also advocated for me when my midwife wanted to manage my third stage as my placenta was taking a little while to come, she helped me to relax enough so that I could birth it naturally. Without her, my birth would have been very different. I am forever grateful for all the love & support she gave me, when I needed it the most.

"Having a doula by my side during labor was a total game-changer. Their emotional support and guidance helped me feel more calm, confident, and empowered throughout the entire experience. From providing comfort measures like breathing techniques and massage to advocating for my needs and preferences, my doula was an invaluable addition to my birthing team. They helped me navigate the medical system and communicate effectively with my healthcare providers, which reduced my stress and anxiety levels significantly. But most importantly, they believed in me and my ability to give birth, which gave me the strength and courage to push through the tough moments. If you're considering hiring a doula, I highly recommend it - the benefits are well worth it. Having that extra layer of support and care can make all the difference in your birthing experience."
